Tips to eliminate pet odors from
carpets:
(IT IS PRUDENT TO ALWAYS TEST FABRIC FOR COLOR
FASTNESS BEFORE
APPLYING ANY SOLUTION)
- If other products have been used previously, apply club
soda or a mild baking soda solution (1 Tablespoon of baking
soda to one gallon of water) to the carpet before applying
Nok-Out. Allow this to dry somewhat before continuing the
odor removal procedures. Nok-Out has a pH of 8.5 and works
best in an alkaline environment. Other products may have
an acid base, and should be neutralized by this treatment
first.
- Where pet urine or body secretions have occurred and penetration
has reached the hard surface, or with a long standing problem,
apply Nok-Out by pouring it directly on the odor source
and allow to remain very wet for up to 10 minutes. (It is
important for Nok-Out to have ample time to soak through
the pad to the underflooring.)
Broad Spectrum Disinfectant Nok-Out is recommended for this application, since it will destroy any associated germs, viruses, mold or mildew that may be found at the site. It is also a powerful odor eliminator. You get the benefits of a true deodorant, as well as a strong, non-toxic disinfectant.
Cat urine is not a difficult odor for Nok-Out to eliminate,
and you will destroy the bacteria causing odors as well
as the ammonia salts. Sop up any remaining solution with
a clean towel, and toss it into the washer to aid in laundry
odor control.
- When using Nok-Out in a carpet cleaning machine, add 16
oz of product to each gallon of cleaning solution, or if
steam cleaning, add 32 oz to each 10 gallons of steam cleaning
solution. Push Nok-Out into the carpet, but do not extract this solution immediately. Allow Nok-Out to penetrate deeply into all carpet fibers, and into the padding. After 8-10 minutes, extract water into the 'dirty water' tank . Dry quickly using fans or with the circulating fan of your home heating/cooling system.
Upholstered
Furniture
NOK-OUT WILL ELIMINATE OLD AND MUSTY ODORS
ASSOCIATED WITH FURNITURE THAT HAS BEEN IN STORAGE, MISUSED,
OR WHERE THE FURNITURE HAS ABSORBED MAL-ODORS FROM ENVIRONMENTAL
CONTAMINATION SUCH AS MOLD AND MILDEW.
Nok-0ut must get to the Source of the odor to
be perfectly effective!
- If other cleaning products have been used prior to using
Nok-Out, you should neutralize the site with a mild baking
soda solution (1 Tablespoon per gallon of water). This procedure
is essential because Nok-Out has a pH value of 8.5, and
works best in an alkaline environment. Spray, or wipe on
the area, but it is not necessary to dry before applying
Nok-Out.
- Use a spray bottle to apply liberally to the site of contamination.
Remembering that a liquid will wick outwards, spray in an
irregular pattern, allowing Nok-Out to penetrate into the
upholstery padding*.
- Permit Nok-Out to stay in the padding up to 5 minutes
before removing the solution with a suction-type upholstery
cleaning machine, or by absorbing the liquid with a clean,
dry cloth.
- A syringe filled with NOK-OUT may be injected into padding
of both carpet and upholstery at regular intervals around
the site of the contamination This assures you of the likelihood
of reaching all odor molecules.
- The odor will immediately be removed, but may in 18-24
hours return to the surface of the furniture. At which time
re-apply with a 50% reduction of Nok-Out and water. Nok-Out
must get to the source of the odor to be totally effective.
Odor molecules often are embedded in the cushions/padding
of upholstered furniture; however, should they leach to
the surface following the initial application will be eliminated
by a second treatment.
- The same procedure is applicable for MOLD AND MILDEW
removal. Nok-Out is a mild cleaner, but may not remove the
mildew stain, if it has been present for some time. Nok-Out
will eliminate the mold spores that cause mildew to form,
however. After treatment, wait for several hours. If possible,
during this time, allow the contaminated article to be placed
in the sun where the oxidizing qualities of Nok-Out can
best combine with the bleaching effects of the sun to treat
the mildew stain. If the stain remains, you may want to
opt for a commercial stain removing product. Apply Nok-Out
before using another product!
* It is prudent to always test fabric for color-fastness
before applying for the first time. Dye lots differ, and should
be checked before full application is attempted.
Both Broad Spectrum Disinfectant Nok-Out and Odor Eliminator Nok-Out are non-toxic, non-staining, hypoallergenic,
and totally safe to use in the closed surroundings of your
home. If you reach the source of the odor, you will notice
immediate relief from odor problems without fear of harming
you, your family and pets, or the environment.
Rescuing
Mis-Used and Over-Used Furniture
NOK-OUT
WILL ELIMINATE OLD AND MUSTY ODORS ASSOCIATED WITH FURNITURE

HAS ABSORBED SMOKE, TOBACCO OR OTHER MAL-ODORS FROM THE ENVIRONMENT.
Nok-0ut
must get to the Source of the odor to be perfectly effective!
- Remove all contents of drawers, and pull drawers from
their shelves.
- Spray drawers and the inside of the furniture with a mild
baking soda solution, and wipe dry. Allow to air dry
completely.
- Spray interior of cupboard with Nok-Out, paying careful
attention to corners, where joints are formed, exterior
trims and any crevices or apparent cracks in the wood surface.
- Allow to remain wet for up to 5 minutes. Wipe dry
with a clean cloth, and re-apply Nok-Out
- Spray the drawers with Nok-Out, again being careful to
treat all crevices, corners, joints and seams, both interior
and exterior.
- Allow to remain wet for up to 5 minutes. Wipe dry
with a clean cloth, and reapply using the above method.
- If an odor source is apparent (oily rags, spilled fingernail
polish, urine odors, for example), clean gently with a mild
detergent and baking soda, and rinse carefully with a clean
cloth. Then apply Nok-Out following the above directions.
- Reapply, as needed.
Nok-Out
is water based. Many odors come from an oil-based product.
Since oil and water are incompatible, care must be taken to
assure the odor is treated, but the wood is preserved.
Old furniture is sturdy, but requires simple rules.
Don’t let the wood fibers stay wet until they swell.
Allow time for Nok-Out to penetrate to the source of the odor.
Be patient, be consistent, be aware of the limitations of
the furniture, and you will achieve success.
