Treating Smoke/Tobacco/mold and mildew Odors, on Upholstered Furniture with
Amazing Nok-Out!
Nok-Out is a TRUE DEODORANT, non-toxic does not create harmful by-products, is non-carcinogenic (does not cause cancer,) non-mutagenic (organizisms cannot mutate or become immune to destruction), non-allergenic, and environmentally friendly. This is a product that oxidatively eliminates organic and inorganic sources of odor pollution. Nok-Out has a cumulative and residual long lasting affect.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES:
(Note: Nok-Out works by oxidation, and to be totally effective, it must get on the source of the odor. Locate the source of the odor before treatment begins. If the Source is widespread, throughout the furniture, treat/detail the entire piece of furniture, not just the upholstered sections.)
Consider the upholstery fabric before you treat your furniture. Nok-Out is water based, and will not harm organic, leather, or synthetic fabrics. However, fabrics both organic and synthetic are much more porous than leather, and de-contamination will be somewhat faster. With leather upholstered furniture, since the pores of the skin are much closer together, you will want to spray or wipe several times to allow for full penetration to the backing and padding of the upholstered furniture. Allow to dry between treatments.
- Where tobacco odors, mildew or other contaminations has occurred, and penetration is into the padding or foam underneath the surface fabric, you will have to treat this area as well as the surface. You will do this by wetting down the area, (but not to the point of saturation) and allow it to stand for 10-15 minutes before sponging away any residual moisture. (Although Nok-Out is non-staining, it is prudent to always test fabric for color fastness, before using any product!) Allow to air dry, or speed up process by using a hair dryer on 'cool'. If this is a long-standing problem, a syringe filled with Nok-Out may be used to inject Nok-Out directly into the site where the major odor problem is located.
-
Nok-Out has a pH of 8.5, and is enhanced in an alkaline environment. If other products have been used previously, apply Club Soda or a mild baking soda solution to the affected area before applying Nok-Out to the site. Nok-Out is a mild cleaner, but it will always eliminate odors, once it gets on the Source of Contamination.
- In 24 hours, if odors return, reapply, with Nok-Out reduced by 50% with water. The rationale for the reapplication is that all odors may not have been reached by Nok-Out during the first application and the odor molecules have leached to the surface. The second application will complete the odor removal process.
- Maintaining smoke-free furniture is simply a matter of spraying lightly after smoke odors have been re-introduced. Deep cleaning will not be required.
