Application Tips: to eliminate all odors from carpets

• If other products have been used previously, apply club soda or a mild baking soda solution (1 Tablespoon soda to 1 Gallon water) to the carpet before applying Nok-Out. Allow this to dry somewhat before continuing the odor removal procedures. Nok-Out prefers a neutral to alkaline surface to begin work immediately. If no other products have been used, skip this step.
• Where pet urine odors, mold or musty odors are present, when food spills have left an odor, when smoke and tobacco have contaminated carpet fibers, apply Nok-Out.
• For spot removal, spray or pour Nok-Out directly on rugs or carpets at the site of the spill, or odor. Allow to penetrate into the carpet deeply, up to 5 minutes. Lightly scrub the contaminated surface with a rough sponge dipped in clean water. (If the contamination is due to urine, feces, or blood, Broad Spectrum Disinfectant Nok-Out is recommended as it is EPA Registered as a mildicide, viricide, and bacteriacide. It is also the same powerful Odor Eliminator that you need! This is Nok-Out, the yellow label.)
• For more widespread use, such as smoke/tobacco odor removal, you can use Nok-Out in a carpet shampooer too! Add 8-10 ounces of Nok-Out per tank of water, or if steam cleaning, add 32 ounces of Nok-Out to each 10 gallons of water. Move the shampooer forward to push Nok-Out into the carpet. Do not pull back (to extract water yet) Continue adding Nok-Out to the carpet until you have covered the entire space. Allow to remain this way for up to 10 minutes before beginning extraction. This allows Nok-Out to penetrate deeply into the backing (and hopefully, the padding) of the rug. Begin extraction by pulling back with the shampooer until all liquid has been returned to the tank. Dry quickly by opening windows, or using an overhead fan.
• In cases where contamination is only in one small area, and where it is likely to have penetrated deeply into the carpet padding, a syringe filled with Nok-Out may be injected at this site. After 5 minutes sponge away any remaining moisture.
